Welcome to Alsop Transport Services, Oban, Argyll, Scotland
Alsop Transport Services based by Oban in Argyll, Scotland was started by Dave Alsop in 1989 on an owner driver basis originally operating a 26
tonne insulated curtainsided rigid complete with fridge unit operating up and down the West Coast of Scotland picking up harvested salmon from the numerous farms in the area and delivering into the processing plants.
After several years it became apparent that the 26 tonne vehicle was too small for the work and Alsop Transport Services replaced it with its first articulated vehicle still operating on an owner driver basis. The move then came into transporting farmed shellfish, work which is still prominent in the work load of the Company today.
Alsop Transport Services now operates a modern fleet of tractor units most of which are no more than three years old and operate throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK on a weekly basis.
Alsop Transport Services has a waste carrier licence and is accredited with Safe Contractor approval. GTG Ltd. South Street, Glasgow has been appointed as its Health and Safety consultants. ATS has been a member of the Road Haulage Association for many years with Dave Alsop being a board member of Scotland and Northern Ireland Regional Council.
